This is unlikely to come as a surprise to you, but the Committee of the Rannoch Highland Gathering has decided that the 2020 games will have to be cancelled. We are very sad to have to do this but it is clearly the only path open to us. A number of the events that are core to the games have already cancelled so we really do have little alternative.
Hopefully life will get back to normal quickly and we can all enjoy a double celebration in 2021.
Always held on the third Saturday in August in the Weller Poley Park at Kinloch Rannoch, this typical local highland games, the genuine article, hosted by the local community.
It includes piping, tossing the caber, highland dancing, hill race, races for children, sales of local produce in aid of local charities, delicious barbecue, tea tent and a Beer tent.Plenty of tradition and lots of fun.
The Highland Gathering has always been the highlight of Kinloch Rannoch's social and sporting calendar. It has evolved over its 140 year existence but change has been incremental.
We are proud to maintain these traditions and to showcase local arts, crafts and artisan cooking. We encourage everyone in the community to be involved, which all contributes to the informal and fun atmosphere of our local Gathering.
